Avery Microcomputer Lab

About AML

The AML exists for the exclusive use of WSU students enrolled in particular English Department courses. Students in these courses automatically pay a course fee when they pay their tuition, for which they receieve full access to the lab for the entire semester. This includes instructional support, software access, access to hardware (such as the scanners and the digital video camera), and printing. If your does not have lab privileges and you want access to the lab, you can audit English 300. You will pay the lab fee but will not have to take any of the workshops required to pass the course.

Students may use the AML when their class is scheduled to meet here, and also during any other times when the lab is open (i.e., during regular hours, when no classes are taking place). Schedules are posted outside the doors of the lab (as well as on the web) so that students can see when the lab will be available for them to use. The lab is located across from the bookie in Avery Hall (map) rooms 101, 103, and 105. Each room has slightly different software and hardware. Click on the links to see what each room has--Room 101, Room 103, Room 105. Then click on the Classes Scheduled link in the menu to make sure that room has open hours when you need it.

The lab contains only Macintosh computers, and is set up using Workgroup Manager. If you are unfamiliar with any aspect of the system, or you need help using any part of it, there will always be at least one consultant on duty who can assist you
